March 2020 - School on Hold.  Now what?

Maureen McEntee  You can connect with me via:

I wanted to give you some general information about what will be happening for at least the near future.  First, let me just say how sad I am that I was not able to talk to kids about this, and that they left school on a Friday to learn that they would not be back at least for a while.  I am feeling a range of emotions with the daily changes, and I am sure that you are as well.  I keep reminding myself to breathe.  There are daily changes and the world feels turned upside down.  In all of this, we all are trying to keep some sense of normalcy.  I don’t even have the words to describe how I feel and how much I wish we were back in our “normal” world.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all as we work our way through all of this.

I wanted to let you know that I will be reaching out via email (so please let me know the BEST email to reach you at), by telephone (again, what is the best number to use), and through online services.  I wanted to let you know that I am on Twitter (@cip_mc).  I will be posting information there, providing links for online activities and services.  As both the speech-language pathologist and social worker, I will include resources in both areas.  I know this is a difficult time for many of us, and I want to be sure that you have access to as much information as I can provide regarding services.  PLEASE reach out to me any time with what ever concern of question you may have.

I have also set up a YouTube channel.  It is called “CIP Speech and Language Resources”.  The channel link (I hope) is  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_ZiK1fbe2Hmu6BL7IDJDhA  .  While it says there is no content, there is – just go to the playlists.  Honestly, this is an experiment for me.  So far, I have set up “playlists” within that channel for grades Pre-K and K; grades 1 and 2; grades 3-4; American Sign Language resources (several student use this in their classrooms and more are interested in learning), etc.  I will be adding to this.  I also hope to upload a few videos with specific practice for different areas of speech and language.

This is a learning experience for all of us.

Wishing you all the best.  Stay safe. Stay healthy.
